احق النّاس بالرّحمت عالم یجری علیه حکم جاهل و کریم یستولی علیه لئیم و بر یسلّط علیه فاجر

سزاوارترین مردم برحمت ٬ دانائی است که بفرمان نادانی باشد ... و کریمی است که گرفتار لئیمی شود ... و پرهیزگاری است که دچار نابکاری گردد.

Those who deserve most mercy are: a  wiseman subordinated to a fool, a generous man dominated by a miser, a virtuous man subjugated to a wrogdoer

دانی چه کسی ز حق خود محروم است ؟

عالم که بحکم جاهلی محکوم است

عادل که بچنگ ظالمی مغلوب است

زاهد که به ظلم فاسقی مظلوم است

الجاهل صخرت لا ینفجر ماوها و شجرت لا یخضر عودها و ارض لا یظهر عشبها

نادان سنگی است که آب از آن نجوشد و درختی است که شاخهء آن سبز نشود و زمینی است که گیاه از آن نروید.

The ignorant is a rock from which water does not flow, or a tree whose branches are never verdant, or a soil in which plants never grow

جاهل که ز جهل خود نخواهد رستن

خاکی است که خرّمی نخواهد جستن

سنگی است که آب از آن نخواهد جستن

شاخی است که برگ از آن نخواهد رستن

الجاهل لا یعرف تقصیره و لا یقب من الناصح له

نادان به تقصیر خود پی نمیبرد و نصیحت نیز نمی پذیرد.
